Encore on Keys JUNIOR: Piano classes for ages 4 to 7
This holistic music course develops a broad range of musical skills that extend well beyond playing the piano or keyboard. Children meet and play their instrument right from the start and music literacy is developed from day one.
Encore’s unique whole-pattern methodology is used throughout these classes as it promotes faster, more accurate learning and encourages students to feel and think in musical units. This ensures that children develop musical intelligence as early as possible.
The multi layered approach of the curriculum supports all learning styles. It builds confidence in children because every aspect of learning the piano is purposeful, stimulating and engaging. The curriculum and teaching methodology also maintain strong rhythmic and aural foundations – both of which are fundamental in music.
Essential keyboard harmony skills underpin the entire series and promote musical versatility. By the end of the series, students are able to play in different keys, transpose at the piano, play basic chord progressions, read notation, play by ear and perform with confidence.
The cost of each weekly lesson is $23.
Lessons include the following activities:
Piano repertoire pieces including class performances
Piano technique development in the form of finger zips
Keyboard harmony development including chord playing skills, transposing and improvising

Encore on Keys PRIMARY: Piano classes for ages 7 to 12
These music classes are dynamic, comprehensive and lots of fun.
The teaching methodology and curriculum used result in faster learning and fosters the development of musical intelligence.
Students become skilled in reading musical scores, are able to play by ear, transpose pieces into related keys and accomplish other musicianship skills that are rarely explored by other piano methods. This course develops well-rounded musicians as opposed to students who just read and play.
Multi-sensory teaching strategies ensure that all learning styles are well supported and the learning sequence is carefully structured to suit the intended age-range. There is a strong rhythmic and harmonic foundation throughout the lessons which is key to strong musicianship. Rhythm is the basis of all music-making and harmony is intrinsic to western music.
Students are able to make rapid progress because the essential structures that underpin their pieces are quickly grasped as a series of whole-patterns or complete musical units. Students are able to experience a wide range of styles from Baroque to Rock, and Jazz to Pop.
